LAUREL

vocal artist/voice educator

"Laurel Irene...was downright superhuman, giving one of the most astonishing performances, vocally and interpretively, I have ever encountered. Although she has only a couple of lines to sing, she found a seeming infinite ways to be resigned, compassionate, forbearing, affectionate, sympathetic, absolving, loving or just sick and tired of the whole thing. Just as remarkable is how beautiful and pure her tone remained, over and over and over again." - Mark Swed, LA TIMES

Welcome!

What can we create together? Let's make something new!

As a vocal artist, I love singing new works and collaborating with upcoming composers. From Handel to Mozart to 21st century wacky, wild and extreme, I love to explore all the sounds the voice can create, play with  and finesse.

As a voice educator & vocologist (voc.ol.ogy- the science and art of voice habilitation) I give workshops, private lessons, and provide free educational resources on my website www.voicescienceworks.org. The voice is fascinating, mysterious and always evolving. The more we know about it, the more empowered voice users, voice educators and composers can feel.
